Where to Eat... |
|
Breakfast |
Cafe Eleven is among the best restaurants to eat breakfast. The restaurant is located at 501 A1A Beach Boulevard, St Augustine and opens early at 7am every day. A great meal before heading to the beach is the Sunrise Sandwich, bacon, egg, provolone, tomato, avocado and ranch dressing on grilled ciabatta sourdough, at $5.50. Try also their Cafe 11 omelet, melted cheddar, bacon, tomatoes, onion with side home fries and white, wheat or rye toast, at $5.95. |
Lunch |
Sunset Grille at 421 a1a Beach Blvd for lunch was amazing. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. I tried the Goat Cheese Cranberry Pecan for $9.99, fried goat cheese medallions on a fresh spinach and crisp romaine bed, dried cranberries, Mandarin oranges, chipotle pecans, sunflower seeds, artichoke hearts and tomatoes. It was also served with a homemade Key Lime vinaigrette. The Sea Spuds is delicious, as well. I loved the potato skins stuffed with crab meat, fish, shrimp, mushrooms and melted cheddar. |
Dinner |
For dinner, you can't resist going to Cafe Atlantico. It's chef-owner Paolo Pece is a master chef certified by the Italian Culinary Institute from Naples. So you are guaranteed to be served an authentic Italian meal. I chose the $22 entree of herb encrusted New Zealand lamb loin chops, with spinach fettuccine, goat cheese & rosemary emulsion. I love the food, the ambiance and the rotating art collection. |
What to Do... |
|
Morning |
After breakfast, head to St. Augustine Beach located on Anastasia Island. There you can enjoy walking around, swimming and more. Other amenities are volleyball courts, restaurants, pavilion, fishing pier, playground, shopping stores and more. There are designated vehicle areas on the beach and if you have an RV, there is a nearby cabin camping and RV area. |
Afternoon |
Visit Anastasia State Park, a 1,600 acres of pristine beach, tidal salt marsh and more. Activities you can do while at Anastasia State Parks are camping, swimming, fishing, picnicking, beachcombing, hiking, boating and a lot more. Rent a canoe and bike and explore the state park. |
Evening |
A view of sunset at St. Augustine Beach is perfect to end the day. Watch the sun as it kisses the sea goodnight and count the stars gradually showing up. Prepare your bonfire for a camping by the beach of St. Augustine. |
